"I grew up within the public school system, and I had some great teachers. Working within the public school system now, I have met and become friends with some pretty awesome people. However, working where I work, I have seen first hand the limits that are placed on teachers these days. Insufficient funding, inability to share your faith, and lack of effective discipline are just a few of the many things that a teacher, no matter how wonderful, has to deal with. When we looked at putting our oldest into a more structured preschool, we were immediately drawn to TFCA, and have been here ever since."

What do you love about TFCA?

"I'm going to let you in on a little secret about my family - all three kids are vastly different! TFCA has risen to the challenge and adapted to meet every one of their needs.

Our oldest is constantly challenged to push herself and improve. The academics are rigorous enough to keep her on her toes and constantly learning new material.

My middle child is great at math, and he has been pushed and applauded for his success. However, he has struggled with reading. The small class size has afforded him the opportunity to have extra one-on-one time with the teacher. When that wasn't enough, the school dug further and continued to look for ways to help him succeed. I have, over the years, seen multiple children come from other private schools where they were basically "kicked out" because they couldn't keep up with the academics and the school wasn't willing to work with them. TFCA, on the other hand, has worked diligently to assure his success both in and out of the classroom.

My youngest is quite the strong-willed child, and I have watched all the staff embrace her, love on her, discipline her (in love) when needed, and help her to mature while maintaining her spunky personality.

As if that isn't enough, the staff does all of this, and more, with smiles on their faces because they truly love Jesus and that shines through in all of their decisions.
"

How is TFCA different from other school options in our area?

"You can find many teachers who are Christians within the public school system, but you can't find teachers that begin every parent/teacher conference with prayer. You can find many teachers that will love on and mentor your children within the public school system, but you can't find teachers who will quote verses over them when a bully teases them or their best friend hurt their feelings. You can find many teachers willing to spend hours after school and on weekends coming up with wonderful creative lesson plans within the public school system, but you can't find teachers who look for opportunities to share Jesus within those lessons. Put simply, Jesus is the difference and it shows."

Why do you think people should consider TFCA for their children's education?

"So many people see the $$$ and never even consider private school as an option. After all, a free option is available, and it's good enough. Most people say, "I went to public school and I turned out fine." But I want more than "fine" for my children. I want them to thrive, succeed, and do it with Jesus at the center of it all.

Pray about it! You'd be surprised what you can make work, if you are willing to try. As a family, we decided that a quality education with a Christian foundation was worth a little bit of pinching pennies here and there. We are getting ready to begin our seventh year as part of the TFCA family and fifth year with multiple children enrolled and the money has been there every year.

TFCA is such a wonderful blessing and I think everyone should consider TFCA for their children's education."
